Ideally, beginners, ages 12-adult.  We'll be starting from scratch and working through some of the basic chords - mainly G, C, Em, and D.

Short answer - yes.  Whatever you have, we can make music with it.  They both tune and play the same.  The only difference is that one plugs in, one doesn't.  However, if you have an electric guitar, you won't really need to bring an amp.  We'll be able to hear it just fine.

No biggie.  I can send you a video of what we covered so you can catch up.

I hate to give away my secrets, but I'll say this - the very first day we'll learn the classic song "Horse with No Name" by America.  Every song after that is chosen in order to build on the skills learned in the previous session.  And yes...you can hear them all on the radio almost daily.

Ok ok ok.  Without getting into too much detail, I have made exceptions for 10 or 11 before.  The issue comes in with hand/muscle development, dexterity, playing on an appropriately sized guitar, and willingness to practice.  So, it's not a hard and fast rule that 12 is the cutoff, but it's recommended.
